The purpose this was to retrain, and conducting evaluation on projects activities run under PROSPER – RESET Project which is implemented in Urambo, Kaliua, Sikonge and Chunya Districts.
The main objectives of this program was to impart knowledge to VSLA, Youth skills and MFS groups on the following financial literacy areas; Record keeping, business planning, loan, cash flow skills and to conduct group discussion with VSLA, MFS and Skills groups on their on-going activities. Also the team distribute tool kits to eligible youth who are in skills training programs, collect monthly data (VSLA, MFS and skills) and child in labour data
The activity involved a total of 160 Youth and 1355 VSLA members from Urambo district (Kalemela B and Igagala villages ) Kaliua district (Igwisi and Songambele villages), Sikonge (Makazi, Ukomandala and Mole villages) and finalize in Chunya (Ngwala) who were trained on financial literacy in the following areas; record keeping, business planning, loan, cash flow skills. Also 20 Youth were invoved in skills training program provided with tool kits as starter loan.
All these effort are focused on supporting unprivileged children who never complete the primary school due to their involvement with other activities (child labour) so that they can be resourceful with to their family and village. The activities they are including include garage for motorcycle tricycle and other farm machinery, tailoring, kiosk, gardening, farming.
